CO MUSIC UPDATE

The Denver music scene is smoking hot right now, if you're from Denver and have been sleeping on the artists here it's time for a little wake up cup of coffee from ya boy Ontoneyo.

Right now there is an artist making music at a high level in almost every demographic.

DJ K-tone is really trying to put the city on the map with his recent release of

Left Lane Music

The album is full of bangers. It starts off nice with the Cabby song feat Young Joc "Left Lane" in which Young Joc raps a smooth crooner style hook over a ride in whip with mean mug type of beat.

Pries and Esi Juey definitely steal the show on this compilation with "Ike Turner" and "Chalupa" respectively.

The Rockie assisted hit "Ike Turner" slaps with charisma and with the pre-released video to knock it out the park.

While Chalupa and Esi Juey bring the Hood to the table with the "Chalupa." The self-proclaimed East side Denver rep, Esi Juey is "sharp as a corner" and just wants the moolah. The song is a definite hood classic.

Other notables are Innerstate Ike with E-40 in "From the Turf", Anxious's "Put it in the Air," and Aires Jackson F/ Foe with "Baby Girl."

CO Stand Up.

Money does buy happiness

Spending money brings happiness in consumer utopia

When former President George Bush addressed the United States after the events of 9/11 and told Americans the answer to the events was “to go shopping,” most people thought he was crazy. Turns out when your economy is based on consumption it is healthy to spend all the money you have, just at the right places.

In 2011 a study from the Journal of Consumer Psychology confirms that consumerism brings happiness but only if one spends it in the right places.

Unnecessary luxuries like extended warranties and insurance, although riveting in their value, generally bring consumers happiness levels down. While trips to exotic beaches or seeing your favorite NBA basketball player dunk in the opposing players face seem to bring more happiness. Who would have thought?

read this interesting but OBVIOUS article done based on a study. I mean who funds these stupid studies.

Good outcome from bad loss?

I know what Broncos fans think right now, Orton is trash and this team is going to suck.

With the first accusation, I whole heartily agree, the later I am optimistic about but one thing is clear at this point in the season, This is a John Fox team.

When you look at the first 3 weeks the Broncos are starting to play like a John Fox team with running and defense.

In the one win the Broncos finished with over 100 yards running. 24-22 versus Cincinnati.

In the two losses the Broncos were within one field-goal of tying the game to go to overtime.

23-20 vs the Raiders
and

17-14 today verses the Titans today the Broncos still had a shot.

In John Fox's first year as head coach of Carolina in 2003, he went 7-9 turning around a 1-15 Panther's team. The next year they went to the Superbowl and lost by a field goal to the New England Patriots.

So look forward to coming up Broncos fans. I think John Fox is a smart guy and after seeing the futility of Kyle Orton he will start to open up to the idea of Tebow. Hopefully it won't be too late in the season for the excitement of game.

Orton is like watching retirees play shuffleboard in the middle of a Metamucil Conference.

The defense has pop and Von Miller is an absolute beast.

The Raiders have one of the best running games in the NFL and the Broncos D made it a chippy winnable game.

They just stopped a slowed Chris Johnson to almost nothing.

Defense starts with stopping the run and chasing the QB, the Broncos are doing that right now and are 1/4 of the way to the wins they had last year in four.

Fox is a real tough coach,, look who he worked under... this is a climb though, but he has done it before.

NFL head coaches under whom John Fox has served:
Chuck Noll, Pittsburgh Steelers (1969–1991)
Bobby Ross, San Diego Chargers (1992–1993)
Art Shell, Oakland Raiders (1994)
Mike White, Oakland Raiders (1995)
Rich Brooks, St. Louis Rams (1996)
Jim Fassel, New York Giants (1997–2001)

those are tough and good coaches to have learned from, Chin up Bronco Fans!!

Libya gets robbed by US/Nato, Al-Quieda

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHtEKNgsJno

http://rt.com/news/rebels-getting-libyan-assets-183/

The corruption must stop. The US and UN have sold the humanitarian effort over what is now a privatization and humanitarian disaster. US media reports that "rebel forces have entered tripoli," and that Ghaddifi is cornered. During the same time these reports come out, The Libyan leader is on the national tv and 25 Libyan loyalist trucks pull into green square to defend the city. Although the US/Nato forces have been carpet bombing the capital (humanitarian effort) while telling the us they are not involved... IMF e=loans and drop to the bottom for Libya could be soon.

What drives you?

I met a woman today in class in the exchange she asked me, "What drives you?" and before I opened my mouth to speak the answer she said, "Wait! don't answer... Tell me on Wednesday.. think about it."

So I pondered the question all day... What Drives you?

Answer;

an undying urge,
an undying fire in the pit of my solarplex,
in the pit of my belly.
An urge, a fire, that screams, break the cycle!

an unbridled fire that burns deep into the spiritual core of my being,
a burn that beats, that screams into my mind, Get out and change!

Memories etched into the subconscious of my mind of cold nights,
2 am violence driven escapes, into the cold lynolium floors of shelters.
Cold dark rooms of voucher apointed hotels used by the homeless.

A will driven by the family members, past their prime, that have never eaten at a 5 star restaurant,
that have never touched the sand of a beach,
that will never sit in the chair of an airplane.

Family who were engulfed in the crack epidemic of their era,
only to be left with scattered memories and past regrets.

The undying desireto not be the same carbon copy
over materialized, militarized consumer.
The urge to think freely,
outside of the oppressed stagnant thinking,
corporate despotism that plagues our nation.

The rebelious nature of my tribal ancestors,
ancestors whose voices echo in history of their defiance of controll.

The face of my mother.
The face of my mother who would not die when those 4 bullets entered her body,
who never let go when hanging on the edge of existence.

The will of a people who came to this country in 1560 to escape religious persecution,
blood from chiefs who lead harmonious people through times of attack against them...
I hear their drums, I hear their songs, I know they are with me.

What drives you?
